Thursday, July 3. 2008Marie J. GarnoFuneral Mass for Marie J. Garno of 232 Washington St. Ogdensburg will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Scott Garno officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Longbottom and Rev. Art Garno. Burial will be held at Foxwood Memorial Park immediately following the service. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Garno died Tuesday (July 1st, 2008) at United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Fran Burdick of Ogdensburg, and Heletha and Fred Perrin of Ogdensburg; one son and his wife Arthur and Tammy Garno of Ogdensburg; one sister Heletha I. Gilbert of Ogdensburg; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Mrs. Garno was born in Ogdensburg on June 1, 1927, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Trotter Swann. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1945. She then attended Ogdensburg Business School. She married Donald T. Garno on May 3, 1947 at St. John’s Church. He passed away in 2000. Mrs. Garno was a bookkeeper for Augsbury Corporation for over 20 years before her retirement and then worked for H & R Block as a customer service representative. Also, in the early 60’s she and her husband operated Garno’s Bakery on lower Ford Street before Urban Renewal. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Pastoral Care Group, Ogdensburg Senior Citizens, The Red Hatter’s, and in her earlier years she was a girl scout leader. Camp, age 69, of 130 Jefferson Ave., Massena. Arrangements are with Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mrs. Camp passed away on July 1, 2008 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Mrs. Camp is survived by a daughter, Kathy Helton and her companion, Mike Sunday, of Albany; four sons, Frank Shelby and his companion, Terry, of Pensacola, FL, Mike Shelby and his companion, Gail, of Alabama, Ricki Shelby and his companion, Carolyn, of Alabama and Mark Shelby and his wife, Edith, of Goldboro, NC; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five sisters, Muriel Morley and her companion, Jack Griffith, of Ogdensburg, Beverly Leonard of Marion, NY, Sandra Allen and her husband, David, of Marion, NY, Rita Rolf and her companion, Robert Perry, of Ogdensburg and Mary Jane Gardner and her husband, Francis, of Massena; and one brother, Clarence Wood and his wife, Linda, of Heuvelton. She is predeceased by two sisters, Ruby Irvine in 1991 and Betty Jean Wood in 1940. Mrs. Camp was born in Massena on June 30, 1939, the daughter of Cecil and Myrtle Lafabure Wood. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1957. She married Frank Shelby in 1972 Mr. Shelby died in 1987. She then married Reid Camp on July 13, 1992. Mr. Camp died in 1997. Patricia Camp went to school at Beau Art School in Syracuse where she received her cosmetology license. She practiced cosmetology until 1992. She returned to school at Pensacola University in Florida where she received her L.P.N. license. She worked at Pensacola Health Facility and retired in 2006 due to ill health. Funeral services for Patricia M. Coleman, age 78, of 414 Lincoln Avenue, will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. The burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Coleman died Wednesday evening at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. Mrs. Coleman is survived by one daughter, Sandra Kendall and her husband, Kenneth, of Ogdensburg; one son, Edward, and his wife, Joan of Brockville, Ontario; long time companion, Kenneth Courtney; one sister, Agnes DePue of Ogdensburg; five grandchildren, Alison Coleman of Brockville, Erika Coleman of Toronto, Kendra Moran and her husband, Jason, of Ogdensburg, Karen Mathews and her husband, Benjamin of Ogdensburg, and Kevin Kendall, of Ogdensburg; two great-grandchildren Logan and Aiden Moran. She was predeceased by a sister, June Newcomb and two brothers, Corliss and James Rheome. Mrs. Coleman was born November 14th, 1929 in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of Edgar and Florence Lesperance Rheome. She Graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1946. She married George Coleman June 4th, 1946 at St. Mary’s Church. Mr. Coleman died on Sept. 1st, 1970. Mrs. Coleman first worked for Kallen’s Fur Store and later worked for Kinney’s Drug Store. In 1973 she worked for Hepburn Hospital, working as a secretary for purchasing. She retired in 1985. After retirement, she spent a lot of time at the Factory Fireplace Outlet Store owned by her son, Ed. Mrs. Coleman enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services for Erwin K. Bice, Jr., age 79, of Harrison St., Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Kendrew Methodist Church with Margaret Hance officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Bice passed away June 11, 2008 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Mr. Bice is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Nancy Kio and her husband, Jon, of Rensselaer Falls, Lori Barr and her husband, Cecil, of Ogdensburg and Angie Lovely and her husband, David, of Ogdensburg; one son, Eddie of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, James of Ogdensburg and David and his wife, Peggy, of North Dakota; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother, Lynn; three sisters, Freda Streeter, Marlene Shaver and Eva Vader. Mr. Bice was born on October 16, 1928 in Norfolk, the son of Erwin K. Bice, Sr. and Frances Tupper. He attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1951. He married Betty Edwards on April 4, 1949 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Armand Burnett officiating. He worked for Robert McEwen Custom House in Maintenance for seventeen years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Bice was a member of the Amvets. Mr. Wells passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Marlene; three daughters, Dawn Wells of Ogdensburg, Denise Moore and her husband, Travis, of Ogdensburg, Diannah Hitsman and her husband, Jeffery, of Lisbon; one son, Douglas of Ogdensburg; five grandsons, Cory Hitsman, Joshua and Tyler Moore and Jacob and Arron Wells; one sister, Bonnie Stratton of Colton; and his mother-in-law, Emma Gauthier, of Ogdensburg. Mr. Wells is predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Raymond; one sister, Alberta; and an infant son, Charles Edward. Mr. Wells was born on November 13, 1939 in Louisville, the son of Elijah and Bernadine Perrault Wells. He attended Heuvelton schools. He worked at Hepburn Hospital for 43 years in Central Supply. He married Marlene Gauthier on June 20, 1964 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau officiating. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Clark, age 76, of 806 Franklin Street, Ogdensburg will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ogdensburg with Rev. Robert Longbottom officiating. Burial will be held in Trinity Cemetery in Morley. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Mrs. Clark passed away on Friday (May 23, 2008) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Arrangements are with Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Clark is survived by two daughters, Lise (Ronald) Rogers of Marietta, NY, and Amy Jo (Brad) Barr of Baldwinsville, NY; two sons, Carl Clark, Jr. of Melbourne, FL and Nick Clark of Canton; a sister, Jean Cornell of Canton; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Thompson and Bruce Thompson and one sister, Frances Riley. Mrs. Clark was born on March 9, 1932, the daughter of Howard and Beulah Bradley Thompson in Canton, NY. She attended Canton schools and graduated from Canton High School. She married Carl Langdon Clark on July 23, 1950 and he died in 1984. She worked for St. Lawrence County Social Services for eleven years before becoming a caseworker for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center. She moved to Ogdensburg from Canton in 2005. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. John’s Episcopal Church. |
