Agathlyn H. Thomas

Agathlyn H. Thomas, age 91, of Ogdensburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Per her wishes there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Agathlyn is predeceased by her daughter, Sherry Lee (Theodore) Williams; five siblings, Howard Given, Jr., Hazen (Mary) Given, Edwina Louise Miller, Wilford Given and Herbert Given and a grandson, Daniel Alexander Wells.  She is survived by her daughter, Sally E. Gilbo and her husband, Peter, of Russell, NY; a son, Donald Bruce Wells of Snyder, TX; two sisters, Virginia Kerr of Gouverneur, NY and Evangeline Given of Dekalb Junction, NY; two brothers, Charles Given and his wife, Donna, of Russell, NY and Darrell Given and his wife, Sue, of Russell, NY; seven grandchildren, Sean Wells, Matthew Wells, Donald Bruce Jr. Wells, William M. Williams, Suzanne Kelley, Darla K. Franklin, and Michael J. Gilbo; nine great-grandchildren, Enrique Wells, Amanda Wells, Kimberly Wells, Morgan Williams, Savannah Williams, Robert Kelley, Brody Kelley, Adrian Duvall, and Brandon Gilbo.

Agathlyn was born on February 6, 1927, in Russell, NY, the daughter of Howard F. and Pauline Strate Given. She graduated from Knox Memorial School. Agathlyn married Clifford Wells which later ended in divorce. She later married William Thomas on July 26, 1955, in Swanson, VT. He predeceased her on October 27, 1976. Mrs. Thomas is also predeceased by her beloved fiancé, Paul R. Fields. Agathlyn worked as a supervisor for Woods Bags & Canvas and later was a seamstress for Craig Awan.

Agathlyn loved camping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
