Funeral services for Beverly Moncrief, age 70, of North
Midler Ave., Syracuse, and formerly of Ogdensburg, will be held
Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on 2:00 to 4:00
and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Moncrief passed away Saturday, August
16, 2008 at the emergency room at Canton Potsdam Hospital after being stricken
at her Higley Flow Campground.
Mrs. Moncrief is survived by five daughters, Pamela Moncrief
and her companion, Thomas Mizit, of Syracuse, Pearl Bradley and her husband,
Anthony, of Coral Springs, FL, Lorrie Mullin of West Virginia, Denise Cook of
Syracuse, Mary Williams and her husband, Michael, of Liverpool, NY; one son,
Dennis Moncrief of Syracuse; one granddaughter (which she raised), Ezora Ann Moncrief,
of Syracuse; three sisters, a twin, Betty Small, of Ogdensburg, Mary Kate
Haynes of Ogdensburg, Patty House of Gouverneur; one brother, Ronald Rye
(address unknown); sixteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is predeceased by one sister,
Mrs. Moncrief was born on February 22, 1938, in Ogdensburg,
the daughter of Warren and Mildred Julius Rye.
She attended local schools. She
married George Moncrief on December 17, 1957 in Lisbon, NY. He died in 2007. Mrs. Moncrief was a homemaker all her
life. She enjoyed watching television,
reading romance novels and hanging with her family.
