Funeral services for Charles D. (“Doc”) Wells, age 68, of
Ford Street, Ogdensburg will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame
Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from
2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Wells passed away on Tuesday, June 10,
2008 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Marlene; three daughters,
Dawn Wells of Ogdensburg, Denise Moore and her husband, Travis, of Ogdensburg, Diannah Hitsman and her
husband, Jeffery, of Lisbon; one son, Douglas of Ogdensburg; five grandsons,
Cory Hitsman, Joshua and Tyler Moore and Jacob and Arron Wells; one sister,
Bonnie Stratton of Colton; and his mother-in-law, Emma Gauthier, of Ogdensburg. Mr. Wells is predeceased by two brothers,
Albert and Raymond; one sister, Alberta; and an infant son, Charles
Mr. Wells was born on November 13, 1939 in Louisville, the
son of Elijah and Bernadine Perrault Wells.
He attended Heuvelton schools. He
worked at Hepburn Hospital for 43 years in Central Supply. He married Marlene Gauthier on June 20, 1964
at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau officiating. He was a member of the Knights of
