Funeral services for Colleen Ann Moran Lago, age 75, of Ogdensburg, NY, will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 10:00AM at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the Spring. Calling hours will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mrs. Lago passed away on Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband, Henry “Smokey” Lago; two sons, Christopher J. Lago and his wife, Jenny, of Stillwater, NY and Timothy P. Lago and his wife, Melanie Kimbler-Lago, of Potsdam, NY; three grandchildren, Dalton and Dylan Lago and Chelsie Lago-Mulkey; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Massic of Ogdensburg and niece and nephew, Joseph and Mary Ann Taney. She is predeceased by her sister, Mary Margaret Taney and her husband, Roger.
Colleen was born on January 31, 1943, in Canton, NY, the daughter of Patrick J. and Mary Quinn Moran. She graduated from Canton Central School in 1960 and was a graduate of A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Later, Colleen married Henry Lago on December 11, 1965, at St. Mary’s Church in Canton, NY, with Monsignor J. Albert O’Brien officiating. Colleen was first a registered nurse at Hepburn Hospital and later continued her nursing career at Riverview Correctional Facility.
Colleen enjoyed her work, cooking, camping, shopping, her scratch off tickets and her beloved dog, Slinky.
