Sending our heartfelt condolences from our family to yours ❤️ Dan was a great neighbor even when he thought it was funny to sit on his porch and play the ice cream truck music, only to sit there by himself keeping a straight face while all of us neighborhood kids ran home to get money for the ice cream truck to be long gone…. Actually it never entered the neighborhood Dan the Man was at it again, he had a recording and played it loud enough to fool us kids. That’s just one fond memory of him I will always hold tight, rest easy my ol pal. Enjoy some laughs with Pa, he’s the one that red faced choking from laughter told me your tricks of the trade 🙂

  • Craig and Catherine Borner Posted October 28, 2015 9:26 AM

Catherine and I are sorry to hear of Uncle Dan’s death. I always enjoyed visiting over the years and fishing, going to the farm, and just sitting out in the “back room”and talking. When Catherine met uncle Dan she pretty quickly figured out he was a character with quite a sense of humor and a good storyteller. We’ll miss you uncle Dan, and I hope you are having a blast, wherever you are!
    Love,
    Craig and Catherine

Mrs Cordick and family – I am very sorry to here of Danny’s passing as we affectionately called him as our very and certainly one of the most industrious of our fine nieghbours over the years , ever and always willing to lend a hand or some preaty good advise to one of our many projects as our young family set off to make the best of it just across the lane from Good ol Dan starting in 1966 when we moved to the property . his light hearted humor will be missed but not forgotten – ” hey what are ya doing ” he would call across and wait for my answer -I would be told another good storie , or learn how to do something better like the time I needed to fillet a good pike I had – Danny not only cut it up for me but gave me a printed sheet on it lest I forget – Very Sincerly Yours Eric Drayse

Leila, Bob and I will always remember the fun we had at your Christmas parties. They were the best times. You and Dan welcomed us into the neighborhood with open arms. I still have my book that you made us with your beautiful poems and Ginger (the Dog) graduation picture. Dan always teased me about yelling “KATY”. He will be missed. He was a great man.
