Funeral services for Donald O.
Brabant, age 76, of 622 King Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, August
17, 2009 at Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. F.
James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will
be in Notre Dame Cemetery
with military honors. Calling hours
will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mr.
Brabant passed away on Wednesday, (August 12, 2009) at Claxton Hepburn Medical
Center Emergency Room after being stricken at his home.

Mr. Brabant is survived by wife,
Elaine of over fifty-six years; three daughters, Dorinda and husband Paul
Mallette of Heuvelton, Susan and her husband Craig Montroy of Albuquerque,
NM, Michelle and her husband William
Dillabough of Ogdensburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He is
predeceased by his sister, Jean Rivet and a brother Leon Brabant.

Mr. Brabant was born on September
14, 1932 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Oscar and Jennette Ferguson
Brabant.  He graduated from George Hall Trade School in 1951. He married Elaine Nego on December 20, 1952
at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A.D. Charbonneau officiating. Mr. Brabant served in the US Air Force from
1952 until 1956. He first worked for ACCO Industries in Ogdensburg, where he
worked for over 10 years. He later
worked for General Motors in Massena, as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in
1987.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Mr. Brabant enjoyed woodworking and
at one time was an avid fisherman. His
greatest love was helping his family with their many endeavors.

Donations may be made in his memory
to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund.

    Paul, Dorinda, Josh and Victoria, Aaron and Noah….We are saddenend by the death of your Father and Grandfather and great Grandfather. During this difficult time, we wish you the love of Christ and ask for him to hold you in the palm of his hand.

    Paul, Dorinda and Boys, I was sorry to read online of your Dad’s passing, Dorinda. Remember that as long as you hold him in your heart and have his memories, he will never truly be gone.
