Funeral services for Dorothy Rivard, age 95, of Greene
Street, Ogdensburg will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral
with Rev. Philip Allen officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetary.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11:00 to 12:30 at Frary
Funeral Home. Mrs. Rivard passed away
Friday morning (August 15, 2008) at her home.
Mrs. Rivard is survived by five step children and nieces and
nephews. She is predeceased by two
brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Rivard was born on June 26, 1913, the daughter of
Thomas and Elizabeth Bennett Caufield in North Augusta, Ontario. She graduated from North Augusta Vocation
School. She moved to Ogdensburg in 1941
and was employed at Newell’s Manufacturing Company from 1941 to 1942. From 1943 to 1945, she was employed as a
welder at the aluminum plant in Massena.
She later went to work for the
St. Lawrence State Hospital where she worked in food service. She retired from there in 1972. On December 29, 1952, she married Sargent
First Class Joseph Rivard at Camp Devans, Massachusetts by Rev. White. Mr. Rivard passed away in 2003.

Lawrence Valley or the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center.
