Funeral services for Gerald Newtown, age 96, of Ogdensburg,
will be held on Friday, December 25, 2008) at 4:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home
with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Mr. Newtown passed away Wednesday (December
24, 2008) at United Helpers Nursing Home.



Mr. Newtown is survived by three sons, Richard Newtown and
his wife, Jackie, of Parish, NY, Thomas Newtown and his wife, Judy, of
Ogdensburg and Curt Newtown and his wife, Diane, of Ogdensburg; one daughter,
Martha Quintilliani, of Waddington, NY; one brother, John Newtown, of
Ogdensburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet on
February 1, 1999 and his grandson, Scott Ormsbee, in 2008.

Mr. Newtown was born on August 13, 1912, in Ogdensburg, the
son of Curtis and Gertrude Sheils Newtown.
He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy.
He was employed by Rutland Railroad as a conductor for 27 years.  He later became a summer customs inspector
and then was employed at St. Lawrence Psychiatric until his retirement in 1972.

Mr. Newtown enjoyed watching sporting events and spending
time with his family.

Donations may be made in Mr. Newtown’s memory to an
organization of one’s choice.

    Sorry to read of your Dad’s passing. Guess all the railroad men are up there enjoying a better life. My thoughts are with you at this difficukt time.
