Funeral services for Glen Foster, age 81, of
27 Old State Road, Ogdensburg, will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Frary
Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating and concelebrated with Mr.
Foster’s brother, Donald Yeddo. Burial
will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 to
4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Foster passed away Sunday morning (December 14,
2008) at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Shirley;
three daughters, Bonnie Hitsman and her husband, Randy, of Ogdensburg, Joanne
Bell and her husband, Michael, of Ogdensburg, and Alison Mann and her husband,
Brent, of Ogdensburg; two sons, Jeffrey and his wife, Blanche, of Rensselaer
Falls and Gregory and his wife, Lori, of Heuvelton; three brothers, Donald
Yeddo of Malone, Richard Yeddo of Massachusetts and Robert Yeddo of Syracuse;
seven sisters, Beatrice Brooks, Marie Brooks, June Yeddo, Phyllis Yeddo, Dolores
Belthard, Carol Yeddo, and Patricia Yeddo, all of Malone; and nine
grandchildren, Hillary and Travis Hitsman, Jessica and Justin Foster, Devin and
Ashlyn Foster, Michael Bell, Chelsea Foster and Hailey Mann.
Mr. Foster was born on July 12, 1927, in
Lawrenceville, NY, the son of Henry and Ruth Bogart Yeddo. He attended Franklin
Academy School in Malone. He served in the Army Air Force as a crew captain
during the last few years of WWII. He
also served in the Civil Defense. He married Shirley Brown on September 26,
1959 at the Methodist Parsonage in Lisbon, NY, with the Rev. Jackson
officiating. Mr. Foster worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center where he
retired in 1992 after 27 years of service in the safety and security
Mr. Foster enjoyed refinishing chairs,
furniture and all other types of woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors,
walking in the woods, and his hobby farm that he ran for many years. He loved
spending time with his family and friends.
Donations may be made in Mr. Foster’s memory
to the Heuvelton Fire Department.
