A celebration of life service for Helen M. Deshampes, age
76, of 207 Main Street, Ogdensburg, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August
18, 2008 at the Ogdensburg Elks Club on Caroline Street. Arrangements are with Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Deshampes passed away Friday afternoon
(August 15, 2008) at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.
Among her survivors are her husband, Lawrence (Pete); a
daughter, Patty Lawson of Ogdensburg, a son, Michael and his wife, Chris, of
Elmira, NY; a sister, Marie MacCaull of Hannibal, NY; two granddaughters, Jill
Planty of San Antonia, TX and Jennifer Thorne of Seattle, Washington; a
sister-in-law, Alice Dishaw of Massena; and eight great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a sister, Ann; two
brothers, Bill and Patrick.
Mrs. Deshampes was born on May 8, 1932, in Ogdensburg, the
daughter of William and Anna Thorpe Hyatt.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy.
She was married to Lawrence Deshampes for 55 years. She worked for the telephone company for a
short time. Helen always enjoyed life to
the fullest. She was quick whitted and
always spoke her peace. She enjoyed
fishing, and spending time with her friends and family.
The family would like to thank the employees of St. Joseph’s
for the loving care that they gave to Helen.
