Funeral services for Janet Erwin, age 54, of 1722 Ford
Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 10:00 at St. Mary’s
Cathedral with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from
2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Erwin passed away Saturday, March 28, at
Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Mrs. Erwin is survived by two daughters, Jill Doyle and her
husband, Manna, of Ogdensburg, and Amy Thompson and her husband, Matthew, of
Watertown; four sisters, Dawn McDonald of Ogdensburg, Carolee Mayette and her
husband, Enrico Leone, of Waddington, Mary Cassort and her husband, David, of
Louisville, and Jane Jackson and her husband, John, of Calgary, AB; three
brothers, Peter Cole and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinsville, Ken Cole and his
wife, Joan, of Ogdensburg and James Cole and his wife, Heather, of Seneca Falls,
NY; her mother-in-law, Amy Erwin; three sister-in-laws, Blanche Cole of
Ogdensburg, Nancy Cole of Ogdensburg, and Karen Cole of Baldwinsville; one
grandchild, Liam Paul Doyle; and two step grandchildren, Christopher and Jared. She is predeceased by three brothers, Jay
Cole in 1997, Dustin Cole in 1999 and Jack Cole in 2007.
Mrs. Erwin was born in Ogdensburg on September 16, 1954, the
daughter of John and Catherine Robinson Cole.
She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1972. She married Paul Erwin on September 22, 1973
at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Dan Chapin officiating. Mr. Erwin passed away on March 2, 2006. Mrs. Erwin worked at Madill Elementary School
as a teacher’s aide retiring after 18 years of service. Mrs. Erwin enjoyed playing with her
grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing
