Funeral services for Mabel Gagnon, age 87, of 500 Kiah Street,
Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday (May 11, 2009) at 3:30
p.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff
officiating. Burial will be in Notre
Dame Cemtery. Calling hours will be held
on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Gagnon passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the home of
her daughter, Patricia French.



Mrs. Gagnon is survived by two daughters, Mickey Montgomery
and her husband, David, of Charlotte, NC and Patricia French and her husband,
Ronald, of Ogdensburg; two sons, John Gagnon, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of
Ogdensburg and Daniel and his wife, Sylvia, of Charlotte, NC; many grandchildren
and great grandchildren. Mrs. Gagnon is
predeceased by seven brothers, James, William, Clarence, Edward, George, Frances
and Walter Kelley; and three sisters, Mary Gagnon, Ann Locey and Iva

Mrs. Gagnon was born on July 29, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and
Mabel Johnson Kelley. She attended local
schools. She married John Gagnon on February 15, 1943 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau
officiating. Mr. Gagnon died in
1964. Mrs. Gagnon worked for over 10
years at Hepburn Hospital Laundry Facility.She was a member of the Seaway House.She enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family.

    Dear Mickey, Patty, John & Dan,

    Please accept my sincere condolences at the death of your Mom, Aunt Mabel. Her fire-red hair, her patience and willingness to serve that houseful of people on Morris St. will always be a lasting memory for me. She was a truly great lady.
