Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth
(Betty) Morrison, age 80, of Judson Street, Ogdensburg will be held Monday,
September 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James
Shurtleff officiating.  Burial will be in
Notre Dame Cemetery.  Calling hours will
be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral
Home.  Mrs. Morrison passed away on
Thursday afternoon (September 11, 2008) at the house of her son, Jim Morrison,
under the care of Hospice.

Mrs. Morrison is survived by two daughters, Patricia Fawcett
and her husband, Robert, of Richville, NY and Teresa O’Dell and her husband,
Kevin, of Albany; three sons, William R. and his wife, Wanda, of Albany; James
E. and his wife, Michele and John R. and his wife, Martha, both of Ogdensburg;
one brother, Jack Shanafelt, of Miami, FL; eleven grandchildren; one great
grandchild; and a long time friend, Arthur Schwenk.  Mrs. Morrison was predeceased by five
brothers, Robert, William, George, Donald and Edward.

Mrs. Morrison was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 23,
1928, the daughter of Robert and Clara Franz Shanafelt.  She graduated in 1946 from high school.  She married Oral Ray Morrison on August 16,
1948 at Holy Trinity Church in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mr. Morrison predeceased her in October 1986.  Margaret and her husband moved to Ogdensburg
in 1977.  The couple purchased the McDonald’s
Family Restaurant in Ogdensburg.  They
originated Ramars Foods Inc. to buy, own and operate McDonald’s restaurants in Ogdensburg,
Potsdam and Canton.  Mrs. Morrison sold
the family business in 1989.  Mrs.
Morrison was very active in Notre Dame Parish.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and outings
with her friends.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Richard E. Winter
Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

    I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. In the years that I worked for Ramar I saw your mother on only a few occassions and she was always very pleasant. Having recently lost my father;Let me tell you that a Happy thought and a fond story will help to keep her memory in your hearts and minds for years to come.
