Graveside services for Marilyn J. Thompson, age 78, of Ogdensburg, NY, will be held in the Spring at Pine Hill Cemetery. Per her request, there will be no funeral or calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mrs. Thompson passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn is survived by one son, Ronald Thompson and his wife, Lynette, of Hammond; five daughters, Debbie Matthews and her husband, Henry, of Ogdensburg, Vicki Fredericks and her husband, Gregory, of Ogdensburg, Lori Thompson of Morristown, Kellie Harris and her husband, Stan, of Ogdensburg, and Kari McCormick and her husband, Charlie, of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Diane Whitmarsh of Addison, VT and Susan Whitmarsh of Morristown, NY, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marilyn is predeceased by a granddaughter, Megan Fredericks in 1990, Aaron Thompson in 2010 and a brother, Ronald Whitmarsh in June 2005.
Marilyn was born on June 9, 1940, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Alton and Florence (Tillie) Badlam Whitmarsh. She attended Morristown Central. Marilyn married Gary Thompson on July 23, 1959, at the Presbyterian Stone Church in Morristown with the Rev. Holt officiating. He predeceased her on November 26, 2006. Marilyn first went to work for Diamond International until it closed. She later went to work for ACCO Brands and retired after 22 years of service.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, watching her granddaughters Paige and Madison participate in sports, watching her bird feeders, seeing her grandchildren graduate college, spending time with her grandchildren and watching Dale Earnhardt.
