We feel so sad at Mike’s passing. Mike and Angie and Danny and Rachel were planning a trip to see Yang and me in N GA this summer and for the country music. We are praying for him and the Weston family. Mike and I have been best friends since we were 5 years old. Mike’s older brother Grinny (Raymond) was the only teenager in Moriah that used to laugh when my father would get yelling mad. Grinny would laugh until my father had to laugh too. Mike and i were known as the Bobsy twins in the Mineville hospital after rolling his comet and we each had only a scar in the back of our heads. God took care of us that day and I’m sure he’s taking care of my buddy Mike now.

Mike gave me a ticket when I was 20. He was my Sergeant when I transferred to Oburg as a young Trooper and the Zonie I always called when I needed help in zone 2 after I went to Troop. He was a good man and a great mentor. I am proud to have known him.
Coincidentally, my wife Tammy babysat the kids when they lived in Saranac Lake before I knew either of them. Rest In Peace Mike and prayers to your family.

My deepest sympathy to the Weston family for your loss. Mike was the kind of person that was great to work with. Although we worked for different agencies, Mike always took time to squeeze in a visit and a smile without skipping a beat. He surely will be missed.

Mike and I were best of friends through school. I introduced MIke to a good friend of mine…..double dated that night and two weeks later my friend, Patty asked me to be in their wedding I was always proud that Michael became a State Trooper as my own brother, Trooper Ronald Donahue had made us proud to serve us and gave his life in the line of duty. Mike knew how much it meant to me when he told me the career he had chosen. My heart breaks for the family this wonderful man had to leave,, but now, Mike y ou will never have to suffer again as you take your special seat in Heaven. Love you, my friend.

    TIM. McAULIFFE ( NYST – RET. )
TROOPER MICHAEL WESTON and I met at SP Saranac Lake in February 1973. I was assigned as Mike’s Senior Trooper. As a probationary Trooper Michael Weston was a standout from the very beginning. Mike brought calm and peace to any situation. He was a gentle man and gentleman in every way. He was able to handle any situation, starting on day one. He was never one to make anyone else feel less than they were. Trooper Mike Weston upheld the tradition of the long gray line, and added to it. From day one it was obvious he was a leader. His years as a Sergeant, Station Commander, & Zone Sergeant proved that out. I would like to have said this and more to Keith, Kris, & Maria.
We’re all the better for Mike’s having passed this way.
Heaven seems friendlier because of Mike passing on.
May this good man rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Weston family.
