Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Mildred Lucas

Mildred Lucas, 84, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2018, at the home of her loving son, Donald, and her daughter-in-law, Lynn, where she had resided for the last year and a half. She was also under the care of the amazing people of Hospice and the compassionate care of Dr. Desai.

She married Donald Lucas in Madrid where they resided until his passing January 2, 2000, just short of 50 years of marriage.

Mildred loved her family and her pets. She had fond memories of years of snowmobiling and hunting with her husband at their camp in Parishville. She enjoyed family gatherings at their camp on the Grasse River. She loved visiting and telling stories of the olden days of dancing and playing cards with dear friends.

Mildred was a hard worker all of her life. Her last job was at ALCOA where she held her own at various jobs even running a jackhammer, working alongside men that all called her “Ma”.

Mildred was very active in the Auxiliary of the American Legion 3741, Madrid, and enjoyed her friends and many luncheons with the Red Hat Group.

Mildred is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Lynn Lucas, her daughter, Sherry Dominie, three grandchildren, Rachel Favreau, Nicole Dominie and Jason Dominie, three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She also had many nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Donald, her daughter, Charmaine, her two brothers, William LeMere and George LeMere, three sisters, Marie Vinch, Patricia Barkley and Phylis Smithers.

Per Mildred’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
