On April 20th, 1982 he married Andrea Shortreed at the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown. The couple founded Maple City Insurance Agency in 1983. Peter loved the St. Lawrence River, fishing and boating were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a supporter of North Country Public Radio and a fan of the Boston Celtics. Watching his grandchildren's sporting events gave him great joy. He enjoyed playing music on his guitar, harmonica and piano.
