Funeral services for Paul Montroy, age 60, of Country Club
Shore West, Ogdensburg, NY will be held on Tuesday (September 23, 3008) at St.
Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating. Burial will be in St.
Mary’s Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be held on Monday
from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Montroy passed
away at home on Wednesday (September 17, 2008).
Mr. Montroy is survived by his sister, Ellen Doe and her
husband Paul, of Mason, Ohio, his half-brother, Robert Montroy and his wife,
Mary, of Chetek, Wisconsin, and his sister-in-law, Carol Montroy, of Carthage;
and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his half-brother, Richard Montroy in 2000.
Mr. Montroy was born on February 24, 1948, the son of Edward
and Ruth Cunningham Montroy. He attended St. Mary’s Academy graduating in 1966.
He then served in the Vietnam Conflict receiving an honorable discharge in
1973. When he returned he worked as a stone mason and later at St. Lawrence
Railroad in Norfolk building box cars. He then began working for
Mountain Transport , which he later purchased with business partner
Robert Payne. After Mr Payne death Mr. Montroy continued to be the
owner/operator until going into semi-retirement. He enjoyed collecting stamps,
coins and geneology.
