A funeral mass for Pauline Pvirre, 91, of United Helpers
Nursing Home and formerly of 512 Grant St. , Ogdensburg will be held on Frida,
September 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the mass
from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park. Mrs.
Pvirre died on Wednesday (September 10, 2008) at United Helpers Nursing Home,
where she has been a resident since 2005.
She is survived many nieces and nephews, including Brenda
Casey LaRose and Jane Casey Graveline; and
many great nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by a three sisters, Dora Casey, Alva Hazelton, and an infant
sister, Mary Jane Fortin; and three
brothers, Joseph Jr., Richard, and Frederick Fortin.
Mrs. Pvirre was born the daughter of Joseph and Mary Montroy
Fortin on August 8, 1917 in Ogdensburg.
She attended Ogdensburg Free
Academy. She married Charles G. Pvirre. Mr. Pvirre predeceased her on February 17,
1988. Mrs. Pvirre first was employed by
Cleveland Container and then worked for Newell’s manufacturing before retiring
with 25 years of employment there. For
years Pauline and her husband, Charles, operated a local grocery store on Grant
Street. In their younger years they
enjoyed spending winters in Florida, summers at camp in Red Mills, and the fall
at hunting camp in the Town of Claire. Mrs.
Pvirre also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
She very much enjoyed visits from Fr. Terry LaValley and Sister Theresa LaBrake.
