Funeral services for Raymond E. Kondrat, age 73, of Morristown, NY, will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 3:00PM at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Schirmer officiating. Calling hours will be held from 1:00PM until the time of the services on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mr. Kondrat passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Kathryn Kondrat of Morristown, NY; two children, Jessica Kondrat Paquette and her husband, Michael, of Morristown, NY and James Kondrat and his wife, Jaymie, of Wilmington, NY; the mother of his children, Jane Smithers of Morristown, NY; a brother, Paul Kondrat and his wife, Patricia, of Hinsdale, NH; four grandchildren, Jay and Benjamin Paquette and Mackenzie and Colton Kondrat, and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a sister, Michelyn A. Kirby in 2004 and his parents, Edward and Nadia Kondrat.
Ray was born October 1, 1945, in Springfield, MA, the son of Edward and Nadia B. (Beruk) Kondrat. He graduated from Clarkson University in 1968 and later received his Master’s Degree in Education from St. Lawrence University. Raymond joined the Morristown Central School Faculty in Fall of 1969 as a Driver’s Education Teacher and Business Teacher and was later appointed Vice Principal at Morristown Central School in 1974 under the Administrative Internship Program at St. Lawrence University. Mr. Kondrat also taught business arithmetic. Later, Mr. Kondrat became Building Principal and Superintendent of Schools, retiring in 2000. Ray married Kathryn Reil on June 29, 1991, in Wanakena with Rev. John Mesorowski officiating.
Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, crab fishing in Florida, golfing and skiing in his younger years. He was a member of the 35 Mile Hunting Club in South Colton and a Boston sports fan. Ray took pride and joy in his Fourth of July firework display at his home on Merry’s Point in Morristown.
