Richard J. Baildon


Funeral services for Richard Baildon, age 67, of Route 68,
Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday (February 6, 2009) at 10:00 a.m. at St.
Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from
2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  at
Frary Funeral Home.  Mr. Baildon passed
away Monday afternoon (February 2, 2009) at his home surrounded by his loving



Mr. Baildon is survived by his wife, Mae; his daughter,
Michelle, of Cambridge, Mass.; three sisters, Barbara Vollmer of Ogdensburg,
Betty Ventry of Waterford, CT, and Debra Bartlett of St. Albans, VT; one
brother, John V. Baildon of San Diego, CA; and his mother-in-law, Emiliana
Tanglao.  He is predeceased by two
brothers, Robert T. and David Edward.

Mr. Baildon was born on October 8, 1941 in Ogdensburg, the
son of David Earl and Helen Elizabeth Turk Baildon.  He graduated from Lisbon Central High
School.  He graduated from Canton ATC with
an associate degree in Mechanical Design in 1963.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to
1964.  He married Mae Tanglao on April 14,
1974 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Beaudry and Rev. Carlin
officiating.  He was in the family business,
Baildon Manufacturing, for many years, where he worked as a machinist,
specializing in fabrication and welding.
He was self-employed the last few years.

Mr. Baildon loved inventing things, tinkering, aviation, cooking,
and spending time with his family.

    Chuck and I are praying that your soul rests in peace. You were such a gentle,compassionate man. We’ll never forget the delicious fudge you used to make for us. You will certainly be missed.

    Mae, Michelle and Grandma, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Richard. Shelley, Christopher and I are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers. We are not able to be there at this time but will be there in August. We will visit with you then.
