Funeral services for Robert Hughes, age 54, of Ogdensburg
will be held on Sunday (February 15, 2009) at 1:30 p.m. with full military
honors at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg with Heidi McGinnis officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday (February 14, 2009) from 2:00 to 4:00
and 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Mr. Hughes passed away on Thursday
(February 12, 2009) at his home.



He is survived by two daughters, Christie Ruiz and her
husband, Edgar, Norwalk, Ct; Bridgette and her husband, Christopher Havens,
Massena; two brothers William and Richard LaFlair, Ogdensburg; two sisters  Evelyn LaFlair and Sandra Pike, Ogdensburg;
three grandchildren, Devin Piercey and Sophia and Zachary Ruiz, Norwalk, CT;
and his longtime K-9 companion Mica Mae.

 Mr. Hughes was born
on August 20, 1954 in Hempstead, LI, the son of Robert Hughes and Barbara
Shannon. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy.
He served in the US Army from 1971-1973. He married Sally Dibble in 1974
at the Methodist Church.  That marriage
ended in divorce. He first worked at Diamond International then went to work
for ACCO, where he retired due to ill health.

Mr. Hughes enjoyed playing the guitar and drums in a
band.  He also enjoyed spending time on
the St. Lawrence River and collecting coins.
