Funeral services for Sharon Bodway,
age 64, of 72 Church Street, Lisbon, will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009
at 2:30 PM at St. Philip and James Church, Lisbon with Rev. Jay Seymour
officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October
16, 2009 at Frary Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Ms. Bodway passed away on Sunday, (October 11,
2009) at Rome Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Bodway is survived by two
stepbrothers, Berne Logan, Massena and Daniel Logan of Kentucky; several
cousins, one aunt, and a good friend Francis Doyle. She was predeceased by two
sisters, Patricia Castleman and Mary and her longtime companion Anita Doyle.
Ms. Bodway was born on May 31, 1945
in Massena, NY, the daughter of Floyd and Benna Bodway. She graduated
from Massena Central School in 1963. Upon
graduation, she joined the United States Army. After being discharged from the Army, she worked for a period of time
for the Thousand Islands Park Commission at the Coles Creek Park.
Ms. Bodway was a member of the
American Legion in Lisbon. Ms. Bodway enjoyed reading, nature, her cats,
Rusty and Charlie, and people.
Donations may be made in her memory
to the SPCA of Ogdensburg.
The family of Sharon would like to
thank Paul and Denise LaLonde for looking after Sharon’s affairs while she was
in Rome, NY.
In keeping with the spirit by which
she lived her life, helping others, Sharon has gifted her organs to the
Rochester Finger Lakes Donor Bank.
