Funeral services for Sharon Ward, age 61, of Riverview
Towers, Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 12:00 at Frary
Funeral Home with F. James Shurtleff officiating.  Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the
spring.  Calling hours will be held on
Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.
Mrs. Ward passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at her home.

 

 

Mrs. Ward is survived by three sons, Arthur and Jerry Bennett
of Ogdensburg and Brian Dubois of Madrid; one daughter, Penny Compo, of
Mississippi; three brothers, Theodore “Smoky” LaJoy of Morristown, John LaJoy
and his wife, Gale, of Ogdensburg, Moe LaJoy and his wife, Rosemary, of
Ogdensburg; one sister, Norma Brennen and her husband, Sydney, of Canada; and eight
grandchildren.

Mrs. Ward was born on October 16, 1947 in Ogdensburg, the
daughter of Theodore and Marvel Lesperance LaJoy.  She attended Ogdensburg schools.  She worked at Joey’s Restaurant in Ogdensburg.  She also worked as a cook for the Salvation Army
Community Lunch Program as well as a working as a volunteer for many years as a
bell ringer.  She also volunteered for
many different clubs and organizations throughout Ogdensburg.  She married Gerald “Butch” Bennett on April 23, 1973.  He passed away May 21, 1989.  She later married Joseph “Billy” Ward on September 26, 1998.  Mr. Ward died on August 6, 2003.

Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s
choice.

    so very sorry to hear of the passing of Sharon, i can remember of all the fun times and things we did as kids.

    so sorry to hear the passing of sharon she and my mother sat at the bingo together at the towers know she is resting in peace with my mom helen woods who passed away christmas day. she will be missed by all.
