Funeral services for Terilyn Mashaw, age 53, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 10:00AM at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Mashaw passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Canton Potsdam Hospital.
Teri is survived by her husband, Randy Mashaw of Ogdensburg, NY; her father, Douglas (Blackie) LaRose of Ogdensburg, NY; a brother, Douglas (Duke) LaRose and his wife, Suzanne, of Colton, NY; a sister, Tami LaRose and companion, Dwayne Corbine, of Russell, NY; and a nephew, Drew LaRose and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Terilyn is predeceased by her mother, Ann LaRose, in 2009.
Terilyn was born on May 17, 1964, in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of Douglas and Ann M. Ledwith LaRose. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1982 and then graduated from Canton ATC in 1985. Terilyn first went to work at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center from 1986 until 2003. She then went on to work at Hepburn Hospital later working for Lowes and retired in 2012. Terilyn married Randy Mashaw on July 13, 1991 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Ivan G. Boyea officiating.
Terilyn enjoyed boating, swimming, snowmobiling, traveling and spending time with the family at the summer camp on the St. Lawrence River and their camp in the Adirondacks. Teri also had her own business, River Light Candle, where she crafted homemade candles.
Terilyn was also the 1970 Poster Child for the New York State March of Dimes.
