Funeral services for Wallace Spaman, age 89, of Ogdensburg will be held
on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff
officiating. Calling hours will be held
on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Spaman passed away on December 10, 2009
at his residence.

Mr. Spaman is survived by his wife, Virginia, a resident of
St. Joseph’s Nursing Home; one son, Daniel, and his wife, Shari, Ogdensburg;
three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Bonita) Mix, Mrs. Jerry (Amy) Matthews, and
Mrs. Kenneth (Rebecca) LaRock, all of Ogdensburg; six stepdaughters, Susan Lamb
of Kentucky, Valerie Aaron and her husband, Chris, of Ontario, Canada, Marsha
Brooks and her husband, Fred, of Massena, Charmaine Tusler and her husband,
Bruce, of Massena, Tamara Galloway and her husband, Bruce, of Hammond, Maureen
Murphy of Massena; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren;
one brother, Chester Spaman and his wife, Winnie, of Ogdensburg; and many
nieces of nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Donald,
Lawrence, and Calvin and three sisters,
Rachael Monnet, Marjorie O’Marah and Harriet Spaman.

 

Mr. Spaman was born October 30, 1920 in Malone, NY, the son
of Herman and Philena Lamica Spaman. Wallace attended local schools. He served
in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Navy. He first married Lucille
Graveline on April 24, 1946 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau
officiating. Lucille passed away July 8, 2001. Mr. Spaman then married Virginia
Garno on September 13, 2003, by the Justice of the Peace.

 

Mr. Spaman enjoyed gardening and raising birds. He was a
member of the V.F.W.  He was a 59 year member of the Steamfitter’s
Union.

 

Donations may be made in his memory in the Notre Dame
Heritage Fund.

    I am so sorry to read online of your dad’s passing. I remember his friendliness and the smile he always had! I know you will miss him and hope you will find comfort in knowing he is at peace and in God’s eternal care. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
