Christopher C. Pitcher is a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg. He is a 2001 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and a 2003 graduate of SUNY Canton; he went on to complete his residency and earned his funeral director’s license in 2004.

In 2016, Chris purchased the former Allen-Nichols Funeral Home on New York Avenue, continuing the operation of the 85-year-old funeral home as the LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home.  On January 1, 2024, LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home merged with the Frary family of funeral homes, Chris now serves families at both Frary Funeral Home and LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home. He also serves as an instructor at SUNY Canton, in the Funeral Service Administration Bachelor's degree program.  He lives in Ogdensburg with his wife, Katie (Tinsley) Pitcher and their four Boxer dogs.
